Tech giant Canon announced several new printers for home workers and small and medium businesses (SMB).
PIXMA G670 and G570 and MAXIFY GX7070 and GX607 provide high-quality color images at low cost, while being easy to maintain and connect to other office and home electronic equipment.
Canon said that the PIXMA G670 and G570 can print up to 3,800 photos on 4×6” photo paper, adding that they can print various documents on a single printer.
Canon also promises to provide low-cost ink replacement and “unique power saving” features that can automatically turn off the printer after a period of inactivity. The six-cartridge system, instead of the usual four-color CMYK kit, provides high-quality photo printing, which the company claims can resist up to 200 years of fading.
Support for wireless and mobile printing, smart speakers, Google Assistant and Amazon, which also means Canon promises to increase productivity and reduce downtime for home workers and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Since the beginning of the pandemic and the subsequent remote work boom, employees who have been forced to stay at home have faced a unique challenge-access to all the tools and equipment they normally use at work. Unlike the computers and mobile devices owned by most households today, printers are not common.
Nevertheless, few companies are completely paperless and still rely heavily on the use of printers.
According to a recent Scanse report, ordinary workers print 34 pages a day. After wages and rent, printing may also be the third largest business expense. Nevertheless, Quocirca found that more than 70% of 18-34 year-olds and IT decision makers believe that office printing is essential today and will continue to play an important role in the next four years.
